Mandatory Gear

Mandatory Gear

The Brisbane Trail Ultra requires all runners to carry a full mountain mandatory gear kit.  Our average July temperature ranges between 10 to 16 degC but can plummet to -3.4degC overnight.  Therefore, to ensure the safety of our runners, the below listed mandatory gear must be on person at all times.  Random checks will be performed anywhere on course to ensure all athletes stay safe and if any runner is found without the full list of mandatory gear on person, they will not continue and will be disqualified.

The below mandatory gear will keep you warm and dry in the event of an injury or sudden changes in weather conditions.  This is especially important when you are running through the night, the air temperature drops, your blood sugar levels are low and you do not have as much energy to stay warm.
