Qualification

Qualification- Brisbane Trail Ultra marathon 

At the Brisbane Trail Ultra, athlete safety is of the utmost importance to the team at the Brisbane Trail Ultra. Our team wishes all competitors to get through the Brisbane Trail Ultra marathon course with the best possible experience.

This is why we have included qualification for this event. Qualification events and training sessions will ensure that every entrant is fit, experienced and capable enough to tackle the challenging terrain of all events.

It is smart to enlist a fully qualified and experienced trail running coach to guide you through the training program pre and post event. A good coach will prevent injuries, ensure your cardio fitness and also help you with your nutrition and hydration plan for the event. A coach will also ensure that you complete all your important “Long Runs” to best prepare your body with “Time On Your Legs” and practice your nutrition and hydration plan for The Brisbane Trail Ultra.

Safety aside, it’s a lot more fun if your fitness is up to the challenge!


Qualifying Times or Distances

You will need to meet ONE of the following for your chosen event.

Qualification Period 6th July 2017-6th June 2019

Relay qualification (all events)

  • 10km or more training OR event on trails.

30k Solo Qualification

ONE OF THE BELOW RECORDED TRAINING RUNS OR RACE RESULTS

  • Distance – 20km training or event on trails; OR
  • Time – Sub 2.5 hour road 1/2 marathon.

60km Solo Qualification

ONE OF THE BELOW RECORDED TRAINING RUNS OR RACE RESULTS

  • Distance – 42.2km Trail Marathon or training run trails;
  • Time – Sub 5 hour road marathon; or
  • Time – Sub 10 Hour 50km Trail Running Event.

110km Solo Qualification

ONE OF THE BELOW RECORDED TRAINING RUNS OR RACE RESULTS

  • Distance – 50km training or event on trails;
  • Time – Sub 5 hour road marathon; or
  • Time – Sub 10 Hour 50km Trail Running Event
  • Time – Sub 9 hour trail marathon; or
  • Time – 100km trail running event in under 28 hours

100 Mile Solo Qualification

Our numbers are limited for the Brisbane Trail Ultra 100 mile trail ultramarathon and we have a strict cut-off time of 30 hours. This means you have to be capable of covering the entire 100 mile course in the same amount of time as the 110 km runners. If you can do this and are already qualified with the below event qualification then email Shona.

You will need the following;

YOU WILL NEED THE BELOW RECORDED RACE RESULTS BEFORE YOU CAN ENTER THE BRISBANE TRAIL ULTRA 100 MILE EVENT. CONTACT SHONA AND THE TEAM TO GET YOUR QUALIFICATION APPROVED.

  • Time – 2 x 100 km trail running event in under 18 hours FROM DECEMBER 2016 UNTIL YOUR ENTRY DATE. 

OR

  • IF YOU HAVE AN EVENT THAT IS AN ULTRA AND IS TOUGH (LIKE COMRADES, BOGONG TO HOTHAM, BUFFALO STAMPEDE 75KM, ETC ) PLEASE CONTACT OUR TEAM AND WE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT CAN BE USED AS A QUALIFIER FOR THE BRISBANE TRAIL ULTRA 100 MILE EVENT. 

Once you have hit your qualifier send it through to us (Strava/Race result screen shot, pdf etc) at info@brisbanetrailultra.earth by the 6th of June 2019.
