At 61 years old, Ash returns to the Western States 5 years after watching his daughter Lucy take 3rd place, but this time for his own journey...
Wild Earth Shop Run - kicks off at 5.30 pm from the Wild Earth Burleigh Heads store car park. Run some local trails with Lucy Bartholomew, Courtney Atkinson, the Wild Earth team and your fellow local run lovers and adventure frothers. Whether you're a veteran runner or new to the trails - all levels are welcome! The full run will be around 8km, but there will be options to turn off early.
Snacks & Chats - there will be downtime to grab some snacks and chats before the screening.

Team BTU has been busy assembling a star-studded lineup of coaches and athletes racing the BTU/STWC🌏🏆2024! It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know 🤩🥰🫶🏽 our athletes, and I am so excited to have Courtney Gilfillan’s interview to share.
Courtney Gilfillan, the remarkable athlete who emerged victorious as the BTU30 Winner of 2023, claiming the title for the BTU30, setting a new course record and leaving a lasting mark on the history of the Brisbane Trail Ultra.
Courtney’s exceptional talents extend beyond ultra-trail running; Courtney has also established herself as a national podium Australian track title winner in multiple events across multiple years at the Australian champs. Her stand-out event was the gruelling 400m hurdles. She developed as an all-rounder athlete from this level of excellence, showcasing her versatility by excelling as a triathlete, triumphing as the 70.3 Iron Man Forster Winner.
Beyond her incredible achievements, Courtney also dedicates her time and expertise as a running, fitness, health and wellness coach, inspiring and guiding aspiring athletes on their journey. She offers over ten years of experience and is a fully accredited running coach and triathlon coach with Triathlon Australia, with a depth of knowledge that industry stand-out setting up Gilly’s Coaching and Wellness with partner and formative trail runner in his own right, Jack Gill.
Her dedication, passion, and unwavering determination testify to her relentless pursuit of greatness. Courtney Gilfillan is a force to be reckoned with in endurance sports, leaving us awe-inspired by her extraordinary accomplishments.
