Brisbane Trail Ultra Race Week Update
It’s almost here! It’s now a count down to the Brisbane Trail Ultra. As you can see there have been a fair few changes in the last few weeks. From route changes for floods to route changes for controlled burns.
Thanks for all the questions, and here is an email to help you get sorted this week.
Final Brisbane Trail Ultra maps are up. Please jump on and make sure you have the latest maps uploaded to your watch/phone or in print. The map file will have No Suncorp/No Gold Creek noted on it to differentiate it from the previous maps. So TWO major changes from previous routes as stated- we will be bypassing Suncorp Stadium and Gold Creek Reservoir.
We suggest you load the maps onto an app that will give you directional arrows as there are several out and back sections. Please follow the online PDF map kilometer markers for guidance. There is a link to the Trace de Trails files that are interactive and you will be able to see your elevation along the way.
Race pack pick up has begun at K2 Base Camp. From yesterday, many of you have had the opportunity to pick up your race packs early from K2 Base Camp. Beat the last minute rush at Kangaroo Point Cliffs Amphitheatre on Friday by heading in here Monday to Thursday to pick up your race pack. K2 Base Camp are also currently conducting mandatory gear checks for the BTU ultra distances. You can again beat the rush with gear checks by heading into K2 Base Camp from Monday - Thursday, or you can head to the pop-up K2 Base Camp marquee on Friday to get it checked at race pack pick up.
Bush Heritage Australia sock delivery was delayed so if you picked up your race pack on the weekend, please head to K2 Base Camp pop-up tent at the finishing line, show them your bib number and grab your socks.
It is essential that you read or listen to the BTU Race Rules and Safety Briefing. The Brisbane Trail Ultra is a Spartan Trail World Championship race and we must comply with strict rules. Please familiarise yourself with the Race rules and safety requirements and we suggest you share these links with your support crew and spectators.
We will be super busy getting organised for the race. As much as both Shona and Cora want to be there to answer your questions, we will be both out doing our final checks and balances to ensure you have a safe and amazing experience come race day. So please check the pages as much as possible for information. The link to what to do in the lead up to the race weekend and other BTU information and event itinerary are here. Also keep an eye on our socials and these newsletters. We will be making sure to update you if there are any further changes.
See you on Brisbane Trail Ultra Race Day!
