The Spanish Dynamic Duo have arrived!
2021 Spartan Trail World Champion Antonio Martinez Pérez and leading Spartan Trail World Championship 2022 female Sara Alonso Martínez who just won the Mont Blanc Marathon. To help them get over their jet lag we them straight to Tangalooma to help them get over their jet lag. They have been blown away by the abundance of wildlife, wild dolphin feeding, snorkelling with turtles, Nemo’s, Dori, in fact all the Nemo characters and even sea snake spotting, plus soldier crabs that are unique to the Spanish. We can’t wait to show them our rainforest! They are also looking forward to the AFTER 🎉 at Joey’s Cafe where we have a Tab on the Bar for you! 🥳 🍺
We are happy to say we have all our permits in line for the contingency plan course that is avoiding Gold Creek Reservoir.
We thank you for your patience with us as we put together the maps for you. The PDFs, PNGs, Trace de Trails, Elevation Profiles from Trace de Trails, plus our own Key Location Profile Tables, GPX and KML Files for you to upload onto your smartwatches.
No Change further changes to the BTU10, BTU20, BTU30.
You can find all the map links on our maps page.
The Key change to the course is we are unable to use Gold Creek Reservoir as a checkpoint. We’ve instead used Corra-Mulling Park as our CP5. Corra- Mulling Park is the Start Line, you can drop the CP5 bag at the start line. We’ve added Holman’s Break and Centre Road. Logistics will be easier for your support crew. We’ve tried hard to keep the distances between checkpoints as similar as possible, and the overall distance the same. We believe it is a faster course and we are expecting the course to be easier on the body.
For the BTU100Mi runners, we’ve decided to add a Remote Check Point, with limited supplies at the junction of Township Break and South Boundary Rd to break up the long leg between CP4 and CP5. Your support crew can walk in and support you from Mount Nebo Rd, STH Boundary Track Head (1km Walk) off Mount Nebo Rd. Your support crew will be able to wait at Mount Nebo Hall (to stay warm), after 6 pm, until you are at Township Break (following you on GPS Trackers) before leaving and going to the Remote Check Point. There is only space for 4 cars at this track head and it is crucial that no one blocks the gates as this will be the access for our medical support on the course. This is a REMOTE CP, Fruit, Hammer Supplies, No Hot Food, No Drop Bags. Your support crew can walk in something if you like.
NB
All support crew and runners must be out of Mount Nebo Hall by 04:00 am to make time for yoga🧘♀️ .
Great! We are now out to start marking the course, please understand we will be in and out of phone reception and not in the office readily able to answer emails. Most questions can be answered by using the INFO Menu Bar on our website.
