42 for 42 - Lest we forget
The 6th 42 hour challenge is on again at Suncorp Stadium over the weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28th of November.
Each hour, we will honour one of our Fallen Veterans.
The challenge takes place on the concourse of Suncorp Stadium. Walkers and teams will move around the stadium concourse with the weight in their packs for the duration of the time allocated to them.
We will be offering 3 Packages to accommodate both teams and individuals looking to help raise money that will go towards the maintenance and continued work of our Afghanistan War Memorial Garden.
The money will also help with the on going work into the APP, where research, stories from families and Afghanistan veterans will be placed within our QR code’s and our virtual education.
We would love teams and individuals to post photo's & videos by using our hashtags #42HourChallenge and #42for42

To pole or not to pole? That is the question.
Brisbane Trail Ultra Race Directors Shona and Cora have written a blog on poles and their benefits for a long distance trail runner.
Did you know that poles can reduce the impact on the body by over 30%? NUTS. And there are a few different types of poles to choose from just to make things more confusing in the store.
Here is a snippet from our blog:
It’s important to understand when and how you are going to use your poles
Climbing - Short - Fast Vertical Climb
Fixed Length Pole - As Light as possible - no need to descend ( potential climbing only poles may break on a descent, they are built for weight, not strength. - Crazy European Vertical Km Champs Poles⛰
Collapsible pole, that can be put away when running on the flats and descents and easily packed into your race pack when not needed. - Shona’s Poles
Collapsible pole, that can be put away when running on the flats and descents and easily packed into your race pack when not needed. The Height is adjustable for different gradients, pressure from the top of the pole can be applied - Cora’s Poles
Climbing - Long Distance Poles - Might need them for descending if injured or unstable - Height is adjustable for different Gradients - Spring Added in Mid Section. Those are recommended for reducing the pressure on your wrists. This is probably a pole that is for someone who is concerned with the impact on the body with the descents - Hiking with a pack pole.
To check out the Poles Shona, Cora and La Sportiva Athlete Matt Crehan uses, see our pole blog for the information.
Great! We will see you all soon, the training camps are filling up, we still have some spots, so jump on our website and sign up for our training camps.
Happy trails,
The Brisbane Trail Ultra team- Shona & Cora
