SUPPORT CREW RULES

  1. The participant is responsible for the actions of their support crew. Support crews must comply with all instructions from event staff and officials. The participant may be penalised or disqualified for actions or breaches of the rules by their support crew.

  2. STRICTLY NO ENTRY TO CP1 McAfees Lookout 13.3km into the event. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR our QAS AMBULANCE, OUR BTU TEAM IF SUPPORT CREW PARKS HERE. ANY SUPPORT CREWS PARKING AT MCAFEES LOOKOUT WILL HAVE THEIR RUNNER GAIN A 2-HOUR TIME PENALTY. WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANY SUPPORT CREW CARS AT THIS CHECKPOINT.

  3. No PARKING IN THE SHOULDER BEFORE THE MCAFEES LOOKOUT. THIS IS NOT A CAR PARK. THIS IS A SLOW VEHICLE PASSING SHOULDER. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PLACE TO PARK. YOU MIGHT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF YOU PARK HERE. The safest place to park and the best viewing spot are Jolly’s Lookout and Boombana Picnic Ground. These are both specifically designed car parks, that are located off the notorious dangerous Mt Nebo Rd. Please uses these designated car parks for parking.

  4. Support Crews can ONLY offer assistance within 400-meter radius of designated Check Points 2, 3 ,4, 5 and 6. Runners who accept assistance from support crews outside these areas will be given a 2-hour time penalty.

  5. Support Crews can only enter the support crew area once their runner has entered the checkpoint.

  6. Please ensure that your support crew is carrying an adequate mountains kit for night-time support. Including bringing a head torch, and warm clothing to withstand the close-to-freezing conditions of Mount Nebo, Mt Glorious and Gold Creek Reservoir, and the Finish line.

  7. Support crews must obey all road rules and drive within the speed limits.

  8. Please ensure that the support crew gets sufficient rest and is not tired when driving.

  9. Support crews must follow the instructions of all checkpoint staff, road marshals, and road traffic controllers.

  10. Support crews must not eat the provided food at checkpoints, food is for competitors only.

  11. NO ACCESS for SUPPORT CREWS TO CP1 McAfee’s Lookout for all events. To reduce cars at Gold Creek Reservoir, No support crew is allowed at CP5 for BTU60 Runners.

  12. Support crews are not allowed to enter the event course to collect runners. A runner must withdraw from the event at the nearest checkpoint.

  13. Support crews are limited to one vehicle per participant at Checkpoints 3, 4, and 5. (Note – no direct vehicle access to CP 4 Dundas support crew must walk in 2.4km, ask your runner to prepare their drop bags to accommodate this).

  14. Anyone found speaking rudely to the BTU Staff or Volunteers will be given a 2-hour time penalty or to the runner who they are supporting.

  15. If the rude behaviour continues by either the runner or the runner’s support crew, the runner will be removed from the course as disqualified.

  16. You must not take dogs into National Parks.

  17. No Loud Music is allowed to be played in the National Park.

  18. You must not smoke in the National Park.
